This is Mark Twain's view on Dads, and it is so just on, that I couldn't help but make a card with it.

I was reading this to my husband and he said: "...so true."

Not that much to say about the card, except that the font I chose is Worstveld sling extra oblique and I added a little bit of copic marker coloring in the words....

Revisiting another old favorite, (cf post # 205 and 213)

This new card is an hybrid between the two last ones, with a little Tiffany blue color in the ribbon.

I used a stamp from the same Sparkle n' Sprinkle Thanks a bunch stamps set. This one is another circular one and I added some light green coloring.

My oh my, those silhouette studio cutting files that Bird is creating are just amazing.

Here is the one she posted this morning, how beautiful is that???

The little slots for the ribbons are right on! Perfectly positioned and of a size that would fit the most common ribbons.

I admire the way she ties that most perfect bow in the center. 

She is definitively an artist.

Here is my take on it, no surprise there, Tiffany blue ribbon and Stampin'up Pool Party ink.

Because sometimes revisiting old models of cards is rewarding,  I felt like making some more Clean And Simple thank you cards.

Here come the blue on silver collection, using those beautiful Sparkle and Sprinkles thank you stamps, "Thanks a Bunch".

This round sentiment in silver ink, just pop up of the blue... I lined it with white and silver card stock.

From the same stamp collection, a majestic "thank you" all adorned with swirls.

And to go back to basic, a french thank you, really classy because very plain.

A few months back, I made some "It's A Shower" (cf post 150), using the Martha Stewart line of gifts punch.

I reused this old idea adding "a note of thanks" sentiment I printed on my computer. I just love this font, called Channel slanted.

Deep Edge cards from Bird's Cards

 Pinterest and the web are full of resources when you begin using your Silhouette Cameo. 

How sweet it is when you fall on beautiful free cutting files, easy to download and use.

Bird's Card blog (http://www.birdscards.com/) has those "Deep edge" cutting files that allowed me to design a few easy and simple cards.

Thank you Bird for being so generous and for the beautiful inspiration we can find in your blog...

I added a "thank you" sentiment to this deep edge card (#5) and a Tiffany blue liner.

This one is the Deep Edge #1. I added a band of card stock. The sentiment was printed and cut using a  Spellbinder Nestabilities, label #10 die cut.

I put a white ribbon behind it.

The two following deep edge cards are the #3 cutting files and I just added a Happy Birthday" cut in silver card stock. The large clear ribbon, and the silver mesh one are actually holding the sentiment in place.

Wedding Dress Silhouette

Another beautiful cutting file from the Silhouette Cameo Studio.

The cuts are very intricate and a liner in different color will make them stand out.

I added a few min pearls and one silver flower.

Hope you Feel Better in a Cloud!

I had that embossing folder for a while now but never found a way to use it.

I embossed a pannel and fileld up the frame with some silver paper.

The sentiment was printed and cut out with a fiskars cloud punch.

I just added a double embossed line at the edge to finish the card.

With Deepest Sympathy

Is it sad to admit I run out of Sympathy card?

I really did... and I liked so much the previous ones I made that I kept the same kind of design for my new one.

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on 3/4 of the card, added two rows of two embossed lines on each side of the printed sentiment.

To finish the card, I added a little bit of Tiffany blue ribbon.

Wishing You a Happy Birthday, with Transparency

A few months back, I found that pack of transparent papers, not really vellum but more of an acetate with some flocked gifts on it. They are from Fancy Pants Designs, "It's Your Day".

I printed the sentiment on a white linen card stock and added some of the cut out designs around it for the first card.

On the second one, I actually added a half page of transparency. The picture doesn't give it justice, but, you really can read the sentiment through it.

Happy Birthday Silhouette

Those two cards are made with two different cutting files from the Silhouette Studio.

I was shooting for simple as can be...

The circle in this card is distorted because this cutting fils is actually made for a square card, and I adapted it to an A2 one.

I added a silver lining to it and rounded the corners.

This is actually a free standing "happy birthday"  lined on a red paper.

Both those cutting files come from the Silhouette Studio.

Happy Birthday and A Thousand Thanks

This is another easy way to make a card...

Just write something, anything, choose the right font (and when I say right, I mean, do not go into detailed font or it might not be very neat once you try to get the paper out of the cutting mat), and add a liner...

The most important part is to fuse the writing with the card itself so that the letters are not "free standing"...

This font was a little too detailed , and as a result, it was very difficult to get the letters out neatly...

Silhouette Birthday Balloons

The possibilities with the Silhouette Cameo are endless, and the web is full of beautiful cutting files and very easy to follow tutorials. 

My favorite tutorial so far is the one telling you how to make a cutting file for Silhouette when you start with an image from the web.
