Baby Card with Bears

From time to time, I feel like making newborn cards.

This Martha Stewart bear punch embosses at the same time.

I glued my line of bears between two embossed lines made using the Sizzix embossing folder in my cuttlebug.

I added a mini bow made using a fork; this way it always comes out very regular.

Rounding the corners of the card softened the look of it.

Boy Baby Card with Mobile

Well, I am back! 10 new cards in the past few days, I was just full of ideas, from Birthday cards to New Baby cards, via Congratulations, etc...

This Boy Baby Card with Mobile came to life after I found in my stash a Spellbinder Shapeability "Play Time" little die cuts I hadn't use yet.

My good friend Mary Rose dropped some leftover card stocks she wasn't using and that made beautiful little toys to hang from the clouds.

I couldn't decide which way to make the card, I tried landscape and portrait...

The sentiment are rub-on from Scrap-ease, and the clouds are made with my favorite Fiskars cloud punches.

The cardstock is from a Me & My Big Idea pack.

One card posted.. 9 to go!

Thanks Heaven for Little... Ones

THANKS HEAVEN for little...
...ones

Not again? Yes, again...
I told you I couldn't get enough of this Papertrey Ink sentiment.

Tell you the truth, I was completely charmed by a card I found on Pinterest a while ago, check it out on:

http://simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com/2011/05/one-layer-wednesday-54-baby-cakes.html

This quilted bottom, was just too cute. I kept wondering how I could achieve this, and two nights ago, I woke up with an EUREKA moment. So simple, I wonder how I didn't think of it earlier.

These cards are the direct results of this "illumination".

(It had to be a New Baby card, because this is what comes naturally to me lately.)

I am a little disappointed by the Boy Card picture. For some reason, the "boys" doesn't appear... believe me, the "boys", daisy garland, little bear and "bling" are all the same color of blue. Not evident on this picture.

The sentiment is Papertrey Ink, the little bear was stamped on blue card stock, cut out and propped with dimensionals.

The daisy garland is an EK punch that is going to become one of my favorite tool. Wait and see...

The  blue bling is made with puff paint.
For the Baby girl card, I used one of those $1 mini punch Michael's carries and put a drop of white pearl puffy paint in the middle.

Now for the quilted effect: I used the Martha Stewart scoring board. But, you are going to ask me, how on earth did I make the scoring diagonally, right?

Well, I am going to answer, easy enough. The Martha Stewart scoring board has a little envelope making triangle that allow you to position your card stock askew.

This way you can score diagonally.

Now, for you ladies that use a Stampin' Up scoring board, I heard through the grapevines that there is now a Diagonal Scoring Plate that adapts inside the scoring plate and allow you to achieve the same result.

You can check out Dawn Olchefske Stampin' Up site (http://dostamping.typepad.com/dostamping_with_dawn/)

Baby Footprints

 BABY...
... footprints.

How much more beautiful does it get? It doesn't need much more to make a simple little card. A ribbon, a bow....

There is not much to it, really... may be trying to decide what ribbon would go?

Barely a heartache...

I used a Recollections baby footprints stamp and went through my stack of ribbon and found a few that would do the trick.

The sentiment was printed beforehand.

So Blessed...

SO BLESSED...

Today was the day I  was going to "jump" and try myself at those flip cards you can see all over the Stamping Blogs.

What a better occasion than to celebrate than a new arrival?

Below is my take on it.

-253-

Those flip cards are from A Cut Above.

I used a EK tags punch for the drawers, and the little detail at the bottom of the dresser is made with a Nestability.

I inked the edge of the cards and the drawers to make them stand out a little.

The teddy bear is a Martha Stewart punch and the girl sentiment is made with a Rubber Cafe stamp on top of a Lifestyle crafts party tags die cut.

Until next time...

Baby Dresser

Baby Dresser.

I know, it looks like a million, right?

Now, if I tell you it takes a minute to make it, you will call this card a winner, right?

I cut out 3 rectangles for the dresser drawers and I added them with some dimensionals to the card.

I also put 2 brads on each to mimic the drawer handles.
I added a small piece at the top of the card to make it look like the top of the dresser.

Now the hard part: I didn't have any baby pajama punch or die cut at the time, so I cut it our freely, and added a hanger made with a paper clip that I opened up and folded again.

The web is full of tutorials on "how to make a doll hanger with a paper clip".

To add a piece of color, I added a triangle folded over the last drawer: the "blanket" is made with a piece of material cut with pinking shears and glued to a blue card stock.

That's it!

Easy, right!

The same card, again, with a different color ink and a different punched paper bow... and you get a baby boy card....
