O Toulouse...

O Toulouse...
o mon pais.

Here comes a very different "serie" of cards. I must have been homesick, or maybe I realized that Toulouse, the pink city I am from, is a mine of ideas for very simple blank cards.

Now this post is going to be a little different, I have to show you around...

First, the Musee des Augustins, very famous for his gothic style, housed inside an Augustinian convent.

And now the card: the black and white picture is printed on linen which gives it this plain, clean style...

This is a very famous shot of Toulouse by night... the view of the lights reflecting on the Garonne, the river that goes through the city.

This is what it looks like in a card...

Along the Garonne, all over town, you have little gardens or paths, lining the river...

Comes spring, all the students and tourists go stroll on them, or sit on the grass to catch the first rays of sun.

This card captures a view of a stairway going down to the river with the Pont Neuf in the background...

The most famous view of Toulouse has to be the Place du Capitole, where the mayor office is, and the market on Sunday.

And here is the card:

I hope you enjoyed this express visit of my hometown, Toulouse.

Until next time...

Tiffany Blue Branch in Bloom

Tiffany Blue Branch in Bloom.

Once again, the same combination: Tiffany blue paper on white linen, Floral embellishments from Recollections and this time I used a Rubber Stampede branch in bloom stamp, and masked the flowers with the paper ones.

Puffy paint in their center, et voila!

Here is the same card, this time without the Tiffany Blue paper:

Tiffany Blue and Flowers in a Row

Tiffany Blue and Flowers in a Row.

Once I begin with those floral embellishments, I can't stop!

I used my tiffany blue paper so that the creme flowers would stand out, and stamped the stems with a Rubber Cafe stamp.

I then masked the flower part with a paper flower and added puffy paint in the middle.

Instead of using linen card stock, I finished a stack of already made cards with a recessed middle part, where the blue paper fits just right.

Paper Flowers Blank Notes

Paper Flowers Blank Notes.

Once I began making blank notes with dry flowers, I just couldn't stop!

I found those floral embellishments from Recollections, they are not real dry flowers but rather paper flowers made with a card stock off white with a nice texture.

In one word, they do look like true dry flowers.

The only think missing was the center of the flower, and I fixed that with a little puffy paint that come in a wide pen, from VIVA, very easy to use.

You just have to be careful in letting the card dry a few hours or overnight as not to crunch that little drop of puffy paint.

I used metallic champagne card stock and white linen paper.

Another version with colored paper flower, all the same size this time:

And on kraft paper instead:

Longboard Cards

Longboard Cards.

It is sometimes hard to find an idea of thank you card for a boy, and even more for a teenager borderline man.

So you turn towards what they like in life... No more shiny firetruck or little Batman figurine. That leaves us with sport or hobby.

The card below was designed for a very gifted young man whose name will shine high and bright in a future not that far.

Longboard is one of his passion, the other one begin movie making and editing.
(This kid is just amazing...)

I found that longboard image on the internet and matted it on blue card stock. The card is made of kraft paper.

Here is another version on white card stock:

Butterfly on Metallic Champagne

Butterfly on Metallic Champagne.

There is something in the simplicity of this card that allows it to be used in many occasions.

The card stock is metallic Champagne from paperandmore.com, lined with white linen.

The butterfly is made with a  Cheery Lynn designs die cut, and the corners are cut with a Martha Stewart corner punch.

Tree in Glitter

Tree in Glitter.

Another really simple card to make using this tree stamp from Recollections.

This time, I used some green glitter from Martha Stewart.

I stamped the image on a Tiffany Blue paper and then matted it on a light green card stock.

Blank Card Leaf on Kraft.

I just kept the same idea but made those panel card instead of a folder card.

Perfect for a little note.

Blue Flowers in a Blue Vase

Blue Flowers.

Another version of the card in post 19, different colors used here, but still the same trio of flowers from Close to My Heart, a vase from Punchbunch, a bow from a Martha Stewart Punch...

Blue Tree on Shimmery Champagne

Blue Tree.

Another version of the card on post 35, this time stamped on white linen and matted with shimmery champagne card stock.

House and Tree on Shimmery Champagne

House and Tree.

Once again this ITTY BITTY beautiful stamp.

This time on a shimmery champagne card stock as a matting and to add to the simplicity of the card, some scored line around the frame.

Blue Flowers on Tiffany Blue

Blue Flowers

Another blank card, with once again a flower trio from the Close to My Heart stamp set, and the use of Tiffany blue paper as a matting.

Blue Flowers on Tiffany Blue

Blue Flowers.

I found that wonderful vase punch from Punchbunch: I punch this vase in Kraft paper and added a Tiffany Blue cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

The blue copic coloring reminds of the matting, and I also added some puffy paint at the center of the flowers.

Star Fish and Sea Urchin on Kraft

Star Fish and Sea Urchin

Living in  coastal community, i just love everything that remind me of the beach.

This stamp from Rubber cafe is made of 4 different mini stamps: a starfish, a sea urchin, some bubbles and a sea anemone.

The possibilities of mix and match are endless. This combination was my first try.

The kraft paper in the background keeps with the natural feeling of the beach scene.

Tree on Kraft

Tree on Kraft

This tree stamp is so versatile: if you change the color of the flowers on it, you can add different color card stock as a matting, and have a whole different card.

This one is on Kraft, and it is a perfect neutral card to have ready for when you need one.

Flowers Blank Note

Flowers Blank Note

Another of those Blank Note, with a stamp from the Flower Pot set from Close to my heart.

Copic markers, tiffany blue paper, shimmery champagne card stock... there you have it!

A very simple and pretty card to have in hand for when you need to hand a quick note.

Tree Blank Note on Tiffany Blue and Shimmery Champagne

Tree Blank Note.

I found this little Recollections stamp at the bottom of a drawer, forgotten!

Let's give it a new life: I stamped it in Tiffany Blue on silver card stock that I then double matted, first in tiffany Blue and then in shimmery Champagne.

I added some score lines to finish the card.
