Welcome Little One

Welcome Little One...

Another take on my card # 253, still the same flip card, but this one is neither pink nor blue, a neutral beige that can go for a boy or a girl.

The flip card is from A Cut Above, and the details at the bottom side is made with a Nestability, Label 22.

The teddy bear is from a Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is a "rub on" from Scrap Ease.

Thank you Splitcoastamper!

+++ the best is yet to come +++

+++ the best...
... is yet to come +++

Now... How cute and versatile is that quote?

It is perfect for so many occasions: you could make it a wedding card, a new baby card, a graduation card, etc,  etc...

Below are two of my takes, a wedding card and a new baby card. I am sure I will use this again in a near future.

Just in case you want to do the same, I added the image below.

Let me know if it is easy to download and use.

For my first card, I had a craving for flowers and dragonflies. This is what came out!

Here is a close up of the printed sentiment...
I love the flying  birds in an infinite sign pattern.

The dragonflies are printed in white on silver card stock and I added some dimensional glittery paint on top of the body.

The flowers are punched paper and the centers are made with a Paper-Pen from Viva, in 3D paint Sunny yellow. Any dimensional paint would work there.

I used a Martha Stewart stamp for the flowers stems, and a Martha Stewart edger punch for the bottom of the silver panel.

The finish touch was a simple bow in clear ribbon.

And now, for a totally different use of this sentiment, a new baby card.

-260-

I just can't get enough of this little Recollections baby footprints stamp. I used Nestability to cut a simple circle and a scalloped one to frame the printed image.

It is then propped up with some foam stickies.
Et voila!!!!

Topiary Thank you

TOPIARY...
...thank you.

I am back...

Spring vacation are here, robbing me of my time. Not only did I not have any time to post, I had no new card!

Until yesterday.

Spring is here, and all those flowers in bloom and bird singing made me want to revisit simple thank you cards.

Below is my first attempt.

-257-

I love the scoring around the framed image. It gives depth and definition to the image. The trick is to make the measurement equal on each side (1 inch on this card) and equal around the frame too.

I used Martha Stewart clear stamps for the pot, grass and topiary.

Love You

I LOVE YOU...

... three little words, packed with punch AND oh! so versatile.

A card adorned this way, can work from Valentine's day to Father's/Mother's Day to a special anniversary.

I first saw this card on a papertreyink blog, and fell in love with it...

The mix of Kraft paper, baker's twine and the simplicity of the message...
Check it out:

Choosing the font is very important; you have to find one that feel just right.

I printed "love you"  on a Kraft paper from paperandmore.com and used Martha Stewart baker's twine.

I made 3 more of this card and I made the "X" smaller (1 inch instead of 1 1/4)... I think it looked better.

The kraft panel is raised by dimensional squares.

Flowers in Jars

FRESH...

... I felt like designing a "fresh" card...

When my kids were little there was not a day that passed by when one would not come to find me in the kitchen with a little flower they had picked in the garden for me.

I would grab a jam jar, fill it up with water and put the lone flower in on top of the countertop.

How proud would I make them then....

Three kids, three flowers, in the three windows of this card.

This is a peek of my life, some 10 years ago...

-244-

This window card is from A Cut Above, the mason jar stamp is from Stamps by Judith.

The lone flower is a composite of a stem by Martha Stewart and a daisy stubby from Stamps by Judith.

The circular Happy Birthday stamp is from Sparkle'n Sprinkle, and I attached the tag made with a punch with some Martha Stewart baker's twine.

The Copic markers were lightly used.

Until next time....

Hope You Feel Better Soon

NOTHING...

... feels better than to know that somebody care when you are under the weather.

And what better way to use this umbrella stamp, than on a "Feel Better Soon" card?

Once I stamped and colored the umbrella, I scored a frame around the square as a finish touch.

Posted by Picasa-235-

The umbrella and rain stamps are from Avocado Arts.

The baker's twine is from Martha Stewart.

I used Copic Markers to color the umbrella.

The Sky's The Limit

THE SKY'S...
... the limit.

A kite soaring in the blue sky has always bring me back to my youth, when we used to try to fly those terribly-hard-to-put-together kites on the beach. The only problem was that, if we were not laying down on the sand or playing in the waves, it was because the Tramontane was too strong... If that wind was too strong to allow us on the beach it was way too strong to fly a kite.

Funny it took me so long to realize that....

A soaring kite in the sky... a young man/woman future after her graduation.... so many similarities....

Posted by Picasa-231-

I used a stamp/die set from Sizzix called "kites". The sky was made with a Hero Art (heroarts.com) stamp.

The birds stamps is part of a "Kittie Kit" set from Kittie Calacciolo.

The Martha Stewart baker's twine is my go-to embellishment, and it made a beautiful tail to this kite.

I printed the sentiment on my computer.

Father's Day golf

FATHER'S DAY...
..golf

A couple of months ago, I received an electronic newsletter from Martha Stewart where she was featuring the Flaunt Cards.

Check them out at:

http://www.flauntcards.com/

Shannon Barnes, who created this company, used to make cards for friends and family and one day, she was encouraged by her friends to try herself at retail.

TAnd the rest is history....

Here is my try at it.

Posted by Picasa-224-

The grass is made out of tissue torn and glue down loosely. I used black puffy paint for the hole, and drew a pole with black marker.

The flag is just a red card stock triangle...

The sentiment was printed before assembling the card.

Wishing you A Happy Birthday

Wishing you..
... a happy birthday.

More flowers, more Tiffany blue, more Martha Stewart punch....

With those elements, it could only be a success.  I have always liked cards where there is a mix of stamped image and embellishments. It gives the sentiment there are different dimensions on the overall picture.

Posted by Picasa-215-

This is exactly what I did here: one of the flower is a paper one from recollections, (with a puffy paint center) and the other ones are stamped with a Martha Stewart flowers stamps set.

The vase is a punched image (Punch Bunch) and the spine of the card is  made with a piece of Tiffany paper punched with a martha Stewart edger.

The sentiment was printed beforehand.

Butterflies Birthday Card

Butterflies Birthday Card.

Another card with butterflies... A birthday card this time!

I found that Martha Stewart wide silver ribbon in clearance a long time ago but never found the perfect place for it, until today.

Because of its width, it is quasi impossible to tie a bow with it; this is why I used it as a border rather and tied a white sheer ribbon on top istead. The silver backing makes the white bow more visible.

The butterflies are also made with a Martha Stewart punch and I just doodled behind them.

The stamp under the sentiment is from the Rubber Cafe as well as the sentiment. If I am not mistaken they are both coming from a grab bag at one of the fair I attended.

I used a very light blue ink so the sentiment is just highlighted by the flower stamp under.

You Make Me Smile

You Make Me Smile.

When my kids were little I had this Disney characters crib linen that got ripped but in no way was I going to trash it.

I actually use it... a lot! Not for crib lining, but each time I need a Disney Character... do you see it, bottom right?

Yes, it is made out of cloth.

I printed the sentiment on white linen, added a touch of color with my White Moon copic marker, a stamped on striped blue card stock teddy bear and a Martha Stewart bow.

All that on kraft paper.

Happy Birthday Hanging Window

Happy Birthday Hanging Window

A very simple to make card, that you can customize with different ribbon, sentiment or inside lining.

Below are two versions of it: a linen card with a tiffany blue lining and a blue and brown Martha Stewart ribbon and a Kraft with white linen lining and a smaller Martha Stewart ribbon.

The sentiment is from a Sparkle'n Sprinkle set, Thanks a Bunch.

Glitter Christmas Tree Cards

Glitter Christmas Tree card.

I found this doodled Christmas Tree Craft Smart stamp at Michael's.

I used some green glitter from Martha Stewart and framed the stamped picture with a red card stock.

Posted by Picasa-108-

The Seasons Greetings stamp is also from Craft Smart, and I used some white ink to remind of the white linen card stock below.

Tree in Glitter

Tree in Glitter.

Another really simple card to make using this tree stamp from Recollections.

This time, I used some green glitter from Martha Stewart.

I stamped the image on a Tiffany Blue paper and then matted it on a light green card stock.

Kindness on Kraft

Kindness on Kraft.

The interesting part when you work with kraft paper is that the ink takes his own color.

I do think that stamping in white on Kraft paper is very dramatic, it actually looks like  chalk.

I used different stamps from Martha Stewart for the grass and stems and added two stamped begonia from a Katie and co stamp.

Blue Flowers on Tiffany Blue

Blue Flowers.

I found that wonderful vase punch from Punchbunch: I punch this vase in Kraft paper and added a Tiffany Blue cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

The blue copic coloring reminds of the matting, and I also added some puffy paint at the center of the flowers.

MINI CARDS GALORE!!!!

Mini Cards.

I don't know if you are like me but i am always in need of mini cards to add on a gift or else.

Below is a mine of ideas for when you are in dire need.

I used Sparkle'n Sprinkle stamps on the set below:

Those are made with a Martha Stewart gift stamp and punch, on Tiffany Blue paper:

Snother Martha Stewart punch: it is an edger, but i cut out individual gift and added it to a punch scallop circle:

... or square:

These were a lot of fun to make: fist stamp the image with a Katie and Co stamp, then glue a paper flower on top and add puffy yellow paint as the heart of the flower:

The one below is made with a Craft Smart stamp on a champagne shimmery card stock. i chose to use silver metallic ink and mat it on silver card stock.

The LOVE cut out below is made with a die cut:

 and with a silver background:

This is an owl stamp:

A mini Sizzix embossing folder:

A good luck my friend mini card for St Patrick's day:

A bouquet of hearts for Valentine's day:

A butterfly:

And finally, a cupcake made with a Martha Stewart punch:
