Butterfly Silver Card

A butterfly silver card that can be used for many occasions. This is why I didn't print any sentiment.

The butterfly comes from a Cheery Lynn designs die cut, using the cuttlebug. I then taped it back on the inside of the silver card stock.

The detail at the bottom of the silver was cut with Spellbinder nestability labels 19.

I chose a pale green ribbon to finish it.

With Deepest Sympathy

A sympathy card in earthy tones... I used Kraft paper and stamped the tree in light brown, before matting it in darker brown.

I also used some ivory puffy paint for the leaves.

To finish the card, I taped a little butterfly at the corner.
I used the butterfly Martha Stewart punch.

Happy Birthday Silhouette

Those two cards are made with two different cutting files from the Silhouette Studio.

I was shooting for simple as can be...

The circle in this card is distorted because this cutting fils is actually made for a square card, and I adapted it to an A2 one.

I added a silver lining to it and rounded the corners.

This is actually a free standing "happy birthday"  lined on a red paper.

Both those cutting files come from the Silhouette Studio.

Thinking of You

Thinking of You

In the same spirit than my post #203, another Sympathy card, with a touch of pastel, since it seems I am in a pastel mood lately.

I used two different embossing folder, a tree from Crafts-Too and some bulrush plants from Jim Holtz Sizzix Alterations collection.

The butterfly is made with a Martha Stewart punch, and the Thinking of You sentiment comes from an older clear stamp set.

Until next time...
(by the way, I am sooo happy my punctuation is back!)

Thanks ... with a Butterfly

THANKS...
... with a butterfly.

Usually you say thank you with some flowers. But yesterday, I felt like saying thanks with a butterfly.

Each time I clean up my scrapbooking supplies and reorganize them, I found some I had in my possession for a while and never used. I think this is the main advantage of organizing and re-organizing your tools....

The card below is the result of using not one but two "new" tools.

This Cuttlebug embossing folder was part of a pack and I must admit, I had never seen it! Coupled with the use of puffy paint (my go-to tool) it made a pretty good frame around the card.

Next time, I will try to emboss on the other side, it will give a totally different feeling.

The second unknown to the troops (as we, French say) tool was this butterfly die cut. It makes 4 different butterflies... don't ask me for the brand, there is none on it...

I taped one butterfly down and added a second one with the wings up, and a little puffy paint on the body.

I finished in rounding the corners of the cards...

Until next time....

Sympathy

SYMPATHY...

It is always hard to find the words to help alleviate the pain of somebody who just loss a love one.

Maybe a simple card is worth a thousand words.

Posted by Picasa-203-

I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the tree. The silver card stock is from paperandmore.com.

The butterfly is made out of silver card stock with a Martha Stewart punch.

I printed the sentiment and cut it out with a Lifestyle crafts party flags die cuts.

I also added a very slim white ribbon bow on the flag and a silvery ribbon at the bottom.

Until next time.

Butterflies Birthday Card

Butterflies Birthday Card.

Another card with butterflies... A birthday card this time!

I found that Martha Stewart wide silver ribbon in clearance a long time ago but never found the perfect place for it, until today.

Because of its width, it is quasi impossible to tie a bow with it; this is why I used it as a border rather and tied a white sheer ribbon on top istead. The silver backing makes the white bow more visible.

The butterflies are also made with a Martha Stewart punch and I just doodled behind them.

The stamp under the sentiment is from the Rubber Cafe as well as the sentiment. If I am not mistaken they are both coming from a grab bag at one of the fair I attended.

I used a very light blue ink so the sentiment is just highlighted by the flower stamp under.

Hearts and Butterfly

Hearts and Butterfly.

On a kraft card stock, I added a piece of green striped paper that reminded me of a patch of grass.

I stamped three flowers from Katie and Co and hid the flower part under three pink punched hearts that I lined up with a white marker all around.

I added a punched butterfly made with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and doodled a dotted line under it.

I then stamped "I'll always love you", a ITTY BITTY stamp and colored the heart with my red copic marker.

To finish the card, I added a dotted line in white around the top edge.

Until next time.

Butterfly on Metallic Champagne

Butterfly on Metallic Champagne.

There is something in the simplicity of this card that allows it to be used in many occasions.

The card stock is metallic Champagne from paperandmore.com, lined with white linen.

The butterfly is made with a  Cheery Lynn designs die cut, and the corners are cut with a Martha Stewart corner punch.

Notecards

Notecards.

Because there are days I look for a notecard for a quick note, I made a stack of those.

The butterfly on silver is pretty easy to find a use for, to go with a box of chocolate or a bottle of wine.

The blue has what looks like a Mont Blanc star, that could pass for a star of David for a Hanukkah gift... or not.

The red one is almost definitively a Valentine's mini card, then again, it could go any other way.

As for the palm tree on Kraft, it has that natural feel that allow it to fit in any occasion.

Most of the punches used here are mini Recollections punches, except the butterfly: it's an EK success punch.

Until next time.

Kindness on Kraft

Kindness on Kraft.

The interesting part when you work with kraft paper is that the ink takes his own color.

I do think that stamping in white on Kraft paper is very dramatic, it actually looks like  chalk.

I used different stamps from Martha Stewart for the grass and stems and added two stamped begonia from a Katie and co stamp.

Thank You Shiny Butterfly

Thank you.

Another classy way of saying than you: the butterfly is a actually a metallic stencil from Lynel Harlow. Using an embossing mat with it, will allow you to get an embossed image of the butterfly.

I chose a very glossy white paper and matted it on Tiffany Blue.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, stamped in the same Tiffany Blue color ink.

Silver Butterfly

Silver Butterfly.

Here is a very versatile blank card that can be used for a lot of occasions.

I used a butterfly die from Cheeryl Lynn, check out their wonderful line of dies at:

The butterfly is cut out a glossy paper, and I double matted it on silver first and then white card stock.

Happy Birthday with two Butterflies

Happy Birthday...
... with two butterflies.

Adding butterflies to a birthday card is something I love to do, because when you doodle the path of the butterfly it does give a feeling of movement to the page.

I went with pink on this card, a rare occurrence...

The butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch and inked, then glued down on the body part only so the wings can stand out.

Posted by Picasa

I used an other Martha Stewart edger punch for the pink card stock and added a ribbon. The pink card stock makes a spine to the card.

The sentiment is a Papertrey Ink one, and I stamped in inside the flower image.
The fun part is the doodling...

Until next time!

Happy 21st Birthday

Happy 21st Birthday...

21... where did the time go. a birthday card for my daughter, with daisies in lieu of Sunflowers, Jen's favorite ones, and with a butterfly of course for my mariposa...

The butterfly is punched with a Martha Stewart punch first in green then in beige.
I put one on top of the other one, a little askew.

I doodled the path of the butterfly to give the card a feeling of movement....

The daisies ribbon is  finishing the card.

The beige card stock is double punched with a Stampin' up punch.

Until next time....

Portfolio Thank You Cards (other version)

Portfolio Thank You Cards...

I guess I can't just make enough of those to give as a gift.

Another portfolio, a little different... this time I added a little white border that I first run in a Stampin'up punch .I chose a double faced card stock once again, white dot and light blue this time.

Once again, below is the website address if you want to follow the very easy directions:

http://flowerbug.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/02/quick-easy-note-card-gift-box.html

Here is a look inside, the cards are very fresh this time...
The flowers are stamped and the cut out circles are propped with a dimensional.

Close up of the card, and the little detail on the envelop: a stamped butterfly.
