All Star Dad

All Star Dad

A Converse sneaker card, dirty on the sole because you know they never stay clean more than 2 minutes... I found this wonderful idea on the scrapbook snippets blog (http://scrapbooksnippets.blogspot.com/), and adapted it to  a father's day card.

I just loved that idea...
The grommets for the shoe laces are made in paper, and I added some 3D crystal Lacquer to make them look metallic. I had some problems finding a way of writing in circle with my apple page program... after a frustrating long time spent in front of my computer, I decided to use sticky letters, and that was that.

I then thought I own a wonderful Silhouette Cameo, with a load of tutorial on line, and I used it to write a circular "all star" message. it works beautifully.

I use my Faber-Castell PITT artist white pen to draw the  stitchings.

Anniversary Flowers

Anniversary Flowers

Last year at the sacramento Craft fair, I found those metallic embellishments from Scrapyard 329, and I have been using most of the graduation and party related ones.

This red bouquet just found its place.

I printed the sentiment from my computer, and added a piece of linen run through my Cuttlebug in an embossing folder, at the bottom.

I then glued a small red ribbon.

A two step card, simple and cute...

Valentine's Day Chocolate Holder

Valentine's Day, Chocolate Holder.

Here we go again! A new Valentine's day roll around and we are thinking care package for our girls in College.

This time, we had a crowd to please! So I made simple little square cards with a printed sentiment, stuck a See's candy chocolate heart and drew a stem to this "flower" before adding a piece of baker's twine as a finishing touch.

It doesn't get simpler than that.

Red and Black Thank you Cards

Red and Black Thank You Cards.

After participating to the first Craft fair ever, I met a wonderful client, Susan,  who needed thank you cards, but she wanted some special ones.

She asked me to design a few and she chose the two models below.

The cards had to be black and red since her business card and logo were these color.

She also wanted a place on the inside to hold a gift card.

I found that beautiful red linen card stock at Paperandmore.com, and raided the black section of ribbons at my local Michael's... after all, I had to make 200 cards!

The stamp used on the first one comes from the Thanks a Bunch thank you set from Sparkle'n Sprinkle.

For the second one, I printed the sentiment beforehand, and used a edger from Martha Stewart to make a lacy edge.

Since my client was worried her writing on the inside would show, I lined up the top flap with a red piece of linen.

The black ribbon tied on the red piece of linen on top of the card is very classy.

For the gift card enclosure, I chose to use some vellum, as to not conceal the gift card.

I really loved working with this client, and I think she was thrilled with the results.

Love Note with Key

Love Note with Key.

I made the envelope in scoring diagonally a rectangle in red shiny paper.

I then punched a double heart in the middle with an EK Success punch and added the red heart in the middle.

I used a stamp with no name for the key, cut it our and tied it with a piece of rope around the envelope.

The envelop is propped up with dimensionals.

Notecards

Notecards.

Because there are days I look for a notecard for a quick note, I made a stack of those.

The butterfly on silver is pretty easy to find a use for, to go with a box of chocolate or a bottle of wine.

The blue has what looks like a Mont Blanc star, that could pass for a star of David for a Hanukkah gift... or not.

The red one is almost definitively a Valentine's mini card, then again, it could go any other way.

As for the palm tree on Kraft, it has that natural feel that allow it to fit in any occasion.

Most of the punches used here are mini Recollections punches, except the butterfly: it's an EK success punch.

Until next time.
